The thigh-baring numbers also cast a spell on our Bollywood beauties from Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria to Janhvi Kapoor.

The summer ‘19 witnesses the return of the iconic fashion piece - mini skirt. While international designers like Saint Laurent,  Hedi Slimane and Balmain are paying massive attention to the timeless icon, our Indian fashion houses cannot give this trend a miss.

In addition to that, the thigh-baring numbers also cast a spell on our Bollywood beauties. Millennials stars like Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria or Janhvi Kapoor are all spotted in mini skirts and shorts.

Being introduced for the first time in the 60s’ by André Courrèges and Mary Quant, the contemporary mini skirt came along with high-low hems and holographic shine. The modern designs are renovated from the original one or any designs of the last centuries.

According to designer Monisha Jaising, young stars tend to pair a mini skirt with an oversized shirt or voluminous top to strike the balance of the look. "Today’s stars wear it in a relaxed, athleisure-inspired style and strike the right balance - for instance, a voluminous top is worn with a mini skirt or an oversized shirt is teamed with a pair of shorts. In haute couture space too, designers like Giambattista Valli have toyed with a panoply of short dresses. A great mini does justice to a nifty pair of shoes or even a pair of trainers."

Despite being an athleisure item, the thigh-baring dress also exalts your level of sexiness. “Thankfully, we live in an era when girls in miniskirts aren’t tagged in a negative way,” said designer Mohit Rai.
