Minissha Lamba is an Indian actress born and raised in a Hindu family. She made her way to Bollywood for the first time in 2005 with Yahaan - an Indian war drama and had been featured in multiple Indian Hindu movies since then. Among all the movies she has been in, Bachna Ae Haseeno is definitely her biggest success to this day.

A journalist wannabe

Despite being a professional actor, Minissha actually earned a bachelor’s degree in English (Hons.) from the University of Delhi. She always had a great passion for writing and it was the CNN journalist's bravery that inspired her to become a journalist after graduating from college.

She didn’t plan to become an actress

During her time in college, Minissha got several modeling offers to star in ad campaigns of well-known companies including Sunsilk, Hajmola, LG, Cadbury, Sony, etc. When doing an ad shoot for Cadbury, she got approached by Bollywood director Shoojit Sicar. Her attractiveness and her talent made such a great impression on him that he asked her to star in Yahaan. This was the debut film that accidentally started her career in Bollywood.

Tied the knot to her longtime boyfriend

The duo started as friends but ended up having romantic attraction towards each other. After years of being friends, Beau Ryan Tham and Minissha Lamba got married on July 6th, 2015. The wedding received extensive coverage in the newspapers, resulting from their reputation. While Minissha is a well-known actress, her husband also earned a reputation as a businessman. What a perfect match!

Traveling and poker are her favorites

The Bollywood star enjoys traveling to peaceful destinations like beaches or mountainous areas. For Minissha, location doesn’t that matter as long as she has good companies with her to create memorable moments during the trip. Besides traveling, she also loses her heart to poker. She has been playing poker for more than seven years now and we can tell that she is extremely good at it.

The first celebrity to become a professional poker player

She was first exposed to poker when some friends coming from abroad broke it down for her. From the beginning, she found the game a little bit hard to understand, but the more she learned to play the game, the more passionate she became.

Recently, besides acting, she decided to add playing poker to her career list. The Bollywood actress officially stepped into the professional poker playing field when she took part in India’s premier tournament like Deltin Poker Tournament & India Poker Championship. At that championship, Minissha came in 4th place in the INR 15K Weekend Kickoff. Her name was all over headlines lately for enrolling Adda52 as its first poker professional player.
