Salman Khan has worked in several films which have been remakes of successful South Indian movies. Shifting his focus from South films, the superstar has now set his eyes on South Korean movies, it seems. Khan is presently busy promoting his much-awaited movie Bharat, which is an official remake of South Korean film Ode to My Father (2014).
After the release of Bharat, Salman Khan is set to wrap up the remaining schedules of Dabangg 3. Once Dabangg 3 is finished, the superstar will work on yet another remake of a South Korean film. We are talking about Veteran (2017), which prides on being one of the highest grossing movies of South Korean cinema.
In his recent interview with an English daily, Salman Khan was asked about the trend of remakes in Bollywood, which has gained a lot of momentum in the past few years. The megastar was also asked if the idea of starring in the remake of any of his own film interests him. Khan said that he would never remake his own films.
However, he revealed that one of his initial films Love (1991) can be remade with new actors from the industry. Starring Salman Khan and Revathi in lead roles, Love was an official remake of Telugu film Prema (1989). However, the Hindi adaptation could not repeat the success of the original film and failed miserably at the box-office.
Talking about the film, Salman Khan said in the interview,
Well, we don’t know if Love would ever be remade. I think superstar Shah Rukh Khan can tell us better because his production house Red Chillies Entertainment owns the rights to the 1991 film.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s fans are awaiting the release of his film Bharat, which reunites the superstar with Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar after the riotous success of Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Also starring Disha Patani, Bharat is set to release on 5th June.
