#MeToo movement 2019 started with an expose detailing allegations against director Rajkumar Hirani by his female assistant. The anonymous woman said that she was sexually harassed on the set of Sanju for more than 6 months. Hirani name then was dropped from film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga as a co-producer due to sexual harassment allegations. Sonam Kapoor in a recent interaction with media expressed her thought about Sanju’s director.
Sonam Kapoor who had extended solidarity to Tanushree Dutta last year said people need to understand the core of the movement.
However, when being asked about Raju, the actress held a different opinion: “I always want to believe a woman but suppose by chance, if it is not true, then how bad it will be for the movement, especially if it is somebody like Raju Hirani.”
The Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’s actress also promised that after her film release she will speak thoroughly about the matter.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is slated to release on 1st February 2019. This is the first time the audience will see a real-life father-daughter duo on the big screen as Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor joined the cast.
