Vicky Kaushal, who has hit the big league after the humongous success of his last release, Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), has his hands full with several high-profile projects. He is currently shooting for the Shoojit Sircar directorial, Udham Singh, which is a biopic based on the life of revolutionary and freedom fighter, Udham Singh.
Vicky will shortly be seen in Dharma Productions’ maiden horror film which still remains untitled. We hear that Karan Johar is planning to develop the film into a franchise, with the first part hitting theatres in 2019 itself. Bhumi Pednekar is playing the female lead opposite Vicky Kushal in the yet-to-be-titled movie.
Towards the end of the year, Vicky Kaushal will start shooting for Karan Johar’s ambitious directorial venture, Takht. The movie also stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in principal characters. Takht will be the biggest film of the actor’s career.
The latest we hear that Vicky Kaushal has signed yet another exciting project and that too by replacing superstar Akshay Kumar. Yes, you heard that right!
According to reports, Vicky has replaced Akki in the official remake of the 2014 Tamil film, Veeram, starring southern superstar Ajith Kumar and Tamannaah in lead roles.
The Hindi remake of Veeram is reportedly titled Land Of Lungi. Well-known filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala will produce the movie under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The producer was earlier in talks with Akshay Kumar and both were quite keen to collaborate on the project. However, Kumar let go of it because of his tight schedule.
We also hear that it was Akshay Kumar only who suggested Vicky Kaushal’s name to the makers. Reportedly, the Masaan (2015) actor met Sajid Nadiadwala recently and sealed the deal. An official confirmation is awaited though.
