Sonu Sood Hailed For Sending 12,000 Migrant Workers To Their Homes Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Sonu Sood may have portrayed several villainous characters on the silver screen, but his deeds have proved that he is a real-life hero. The actor has been receiving widespread appreciation for selflessly helping thousands of migrant workers stranded away from their homes amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

We all know that migrant workers, who flock to metropolitan cities in search of work and livelihood, have been the worst hit ever since India went into complete lockdown to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. With no job in hand and absolutely no money to make both ends meet, these workers have been spending days without food and shelter.

Inadequate measures by the state government and hunger and poverty had prompted thousands of migrant workers to undertake long journeys on foot to reach their homes in their respective states. While some could manage to reach safely, several lost their lives on their way to home.

Sonu Sood could not see their plight and came forward to help them in their distressed times. The actor has been helping several stranded workers in Mumbai for the last few days. He has arranged buses which are transporting them to their homes in UP and Bihar under his ‘Ghar Bhejo’ programme. Every Indian’s chest should swell with pride to know that Sonu Sood has sent over 12,000 people to their homes so far.

Netizens have been showering praises on the actor for helping the poor and needy in these testing times. There has been an outpouring of messages from fans and some have even come forward to help by contributing to take his initiative forward. Sonu Sood has proved that you don’t need to have a fancy mask and a shining cape to be a superhero.

On the work front, Sood will next be seen in Yash Raj Films’ much-awaited historical drama Prithviraj. The movie also stars superstar Akshay Kumar and Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar. Chhillar will be making her silver screen debut with the forthcoming film.
