Sonam Kapoor starred Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is all set to hit the cinemas on 1st February. The beautiful actress took to social media to share her upcoming movie's one poster that shows 2 girls embracing each other and captioned, “No more secrets”.
This film, which features Sonam Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Anil Kapoor, and Rajkummar Rao, is about the same-sex relationship. In the movie, Anil Kapoor plays a father who is finding a husband for his beloved daughter and Sonam acts as a Punjabi girl named Sweety who is lesbian.
As Sweety grows, her parents begin finding a perfect groom for her, but due to her secret, she cannot say yes to any man. However, when Sweety finds her true love, she is afraid that her family and society won’t accept it.
Rajkummar Rao will be seen as Sonam’s friend who loves her.
This is also the first time that the father-daughter duo, Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor are seen together on the big screen. Sharing about working with her dad, Sonam Kapoor expressed, “I think, honestly, curiosity is something which dies among people after they grow up. My dad, in a good way, hasn’t grown up because his curiosity is unquenchable."
When her father, Anil Kapoor was questioned if Sonam Kapoor has taught him anything while filming, Anil said that she showed him every day. The veteran actor also showered his beloved daughter with praises. He stated that Sonam was very brave, honest, intelligent and generous, so he was taking something from her.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga also marks the directorial debut of Shelly Chopra Dhar, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s sister.
