Sara Ali Khan, who was appeared in Love Aaj Kal, will next be seen in David Dhawan’s much-awaited comic-caper Coolie No. 1 opposite Varun Dhawan.

Sara Ali Khan might be only a few films old in Bollywood, but she seems to have already chalked out a well-planned strategy for her career. The actress has been trying to strike a great balance between commercial and content-driven cinema ever since starting out her acting career with director Abhishek Kapoor’s natural disaster film Kedarnath (2018).

Kedarnath, also featuring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role, turned out to be a perfect launchpad for Sara Ali Khan. The newcomer then went on to do an out-and-out commercial entertainer Simmba (2018). Directed by hit machine Rohit Shetty and co-starring uber-cool Ranveer Singh, Simmba emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies of 2018.

Simmba was followed by a love story called Love Aaj Kal (2020). Also starring Kartik Aaryan, the Imtiaz Ali directorial paid homage to the original movie starring her father, Saif Ali Khan opposite Deepika Padukone. Unfortunately, Love Aaj Kal did not live up to the huge expectations of the audience and turned out to be the first flop of Sara’s career.

Keeping the failure of Love Aaj Kal aside, Sara Ali Khan is currently awaiting the release of her next film Coolie No 1, which pairs her opposite Varun Dhawan. As the title suggests itself, Coolie No. 1 is an official remake of the 1995 film of the same name, starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. It is going to be the first out-and-out comic-caper for the newcomer.

Sara Ali Khan has also started shooting for renowned filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s next directorial offering Atrangi Re with Dhanush and Akshay Kumar. Commenting on the solid choices of the actress, a source says that the line-up of her directors and actors is a commendable one. Her balance of good cinema and commercial cinema is admirable, never mind what the eventual fate of Love Aaj Kal was. She got the best directors to work with and she is now figuring out which will be the next entertainer she will do and for which director.
