Sara Ali Khan, who was last seen in Simmba (2018), has bagged a high-profile project. Buzz has it that the newcomer has been signed on to headline a film by renowned filmmaker Aanand L Rai who last helmed Zero (2018) with Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The upcoming project still remains untitled.
Well-known South Indian actor Dhanush will also star in the film. It will reunite Dhanush with Aanand L Rai after a huge gap of seven years. The two last worked together on superhit romantic drama Raanjhanaa in 2013. Though nothing much is known about the storyline at the moment, the upcoming film is touted to be a quirky, edgy, dark romance with a lot of humour.
Dhanush will romance Sara Ali Khan in the movie. The actress will undergo a complete image makeover to get into the skin of her character. She plays a rustic Bihari girl in the film, but it is not going be just about wearing a florid saree and indulging in a loud behaviour. To add authenticity to her character, the actress will attend acting workshops. She will also be tutored on the nuances of Bhojpuri by a voice coach. It seems, early in her career, Sara Ali Khan has decided to be more adventurous than any other member of her family.
We also hear that the upcoming film is a two-hero project. Apart from Dhanush, the film will feature one more actor in the lead role. Rumours are rife in the tinsel town of Bollywood that superstar Akshay Kumar may come onboard to play that part. The makers are, however, yet to officially announce the film and its lead cast. We can expect an announcement in coming 2-3 weeks.
