Saif Ali Khan Explains Why He Asked Sara To Opt Out Of "Jawaani Jaaneman"

Saif Ali Khan and Alaya F are all set and geared up with their upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman. The film has been directed by Nitin Kakkar, starring Saif Ali Khan as a 40 year-old father and debutant Alaya Furniturewala as his daughter, alongside Tabu. Sara Ali Khan was all excited to do Jawaani Jaaneman but it was Saif Ali Khan who asked her to wait until things shaped up in positive way for her. The story which revolves around father and daughter, it was natural for industry insiders to speculate Saif and Sara in the film.

Talking about Sara Ali Khan's first movie during an interview, Saif Ali Khan said that when Sara was offered this film, she was very excited but it was him that he asked her to not go for the offer. During that time, Kedarnath got shelved and Sara was in a fix as she did not had another movie. But after few months, Kedarnath was back on track and later Simmba happened and it went to become a superhit film. Jawaani Jaaneman was offered to Sara when Kedarnath was shelved for a certain period of time and it was considered as a backup plan for her. Saif Ali Khan said that this film could have been done with someone else but i wanted her to do her first few projects with Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. He did not wanted her to work in a film just because he is starring in that film. He believes that it gets complicated when it is about family in such matters.

However, director Nitin Kakkar had clearly denied that Sara Ali Khan was offered this film. In an interview, he said that the story line is based on father and daughter. It was natural for people to speculate that if Saif Ali Khan is starring in this film, the obvious role for daughter would be given to Sara Ali Khan.
