Rohit Shetty Acquires Remake Rights Of Hit Telugu romcom “Geetha Govindam”

Rohit Shetty, who is currently working on “Sooryavanshi”, has reportedly acquired the remake rights of blockbuster Telugu film “Geetha Govindam”, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandana.

Rohit Shetty, who began his directorial career with the 2003 film Zameen, has established himself as one of the most successful filmmakers over the years.

Known as the hit machine of Bollywood, the filmmaker is presently working on his next directorial outing Sooryavanshi with superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif fronting the cast.

A few months ago, Rohit Shetty had also announced his maiden collaboration with choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan.

Though there has not been much development on the much-awaited project, we hear from sources that the upcoming film is an official remake of cult Hindi movie Satte Pe Satta (1982), originally starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in prominent parts.

The latest news about successful filmmaker Rohit Shetty is that he has acquired the remake rights of blockbuster Telugu movie Geetha Govindam (2018), starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandana in lead roles.

Made on a shoestring budget of Rs. 5 crores, the Parasuram directorial set the box-office on fire and raked in massive Rs. 132 crores by the end of its theatrical run.

Though Rohit Shetty has bought the remake rights of Geetha Govindam, he may not direct the film himself as he is presently busy with other projects under his production house.
