Kangana Ranaut To Gain Weight For Multilingual Biopic On Late Politician Jayalalithaa

Last seen in period drama “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, Kangana Ranaut currently has multiple films in her hand, one of them being a multilingual biopic on late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J. Jayalalithaa.

Kangana Ranaut is coming up with back-to-back movies, which will be hitting screens in 2019 and 2020. She was recently seen in the period drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), which the actress also co-directed with well-known South Indian filmmaker, Krish.

The movie, as we all know, turned out to be a success at the box-office, cementing her position in Bollywood further.

After the success of the film, Kangana Ranaut was approached for several new projects. While she picked up some, the rest she turned down.

One of the films that the three-time National award-winning actress said ‘yes’ immediately to was a biopic on late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J. Jayalalithaa. The biopic is titled Thalaivi.

We hear that Kangana Ranaut is quite psyched up about the multilingual biopic which will be made in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

The actress is taking her preparations very seriously to make sure that everything from her looks, accent, and dialogues is perfect in the movie. She will also gain some weight to fit the bill.

L. Vijay, who is directing the multilingual film, reveals to an Indian daily that Ranaut wants her look to be as authentic as possible.

The makers of the much-awaited biopic have hired several special make-up artists from Hollywood to assist with her look.

We also hear that Kangana has dedicated 1.5 years of her call sheet to the makers of the biopic. Set to be made on a lavish budget of ₹ 100 crores, Thalaivi is expected to roll in August.

Talking about Kangana Ranaut’s other Bollywood projects, the award-winning actress will shortly be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya, which reunites her with Queen (2014) co-star Rajkummar Rao after a gap of five years.

She has also teamed up with well-known filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari for a sports-based film, Panga.
