“Dostana 2” To Star Kartik Aaryan & Janhvi Kapoor, Announces Karan Johar

After years of wait, filmmaker Karan Johar has finally announced a sequel to his much-loved film "Dostana" (2008). The sequel will feature Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. One more actor will join the cast soon.

Dostana 2 should be named as one of the most awaited sequels in the history of Indian cinema. Its predecessor, Dostana, hit the marquee in 2008. Starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in principal roles, the romcom emerged as a clean hit at the box-office.

Soon after its success, producer Karan Johar revealed his plans for a sequel to the movie. However, the sequel kept getting pushed for one reason or the other. But now, after a long wait of a decade, Karan Johar has finally announced Dostana 2.

Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor have been locked to play the lead roles in Dostana 2. While Kartik is teaming up with Dharma Productions for the first time, Janhvi made her acting debut with the banner in a film called Dhadak (2018). She already has two more films from the production house. Dostana 2 will be her fourth film under the banner.

Meanwhile, the third actor in the sequel is yet to be confirmed. If Karan Johar’s tweet is anything to go by, he will soon be launching “a suitable boy" as the third lead in Dostana 2.
