Anushka Sharma Picks Prosit Roy To Helm Jhulan Goswami Biopic?

Anushka Sharma has previously worked with Prosit Roy on horror film “Pari”. She seems set to reteam with the director for a biopic on Jhulan Goswami.

Anushka Sharma, who was last seen in Zero (2018) alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has not signed any film in the past one year. However, speculation is rife in the tinsel town of Bollywood that she has just given her nod to star in an upcoming biopic. The untitled film will be based on the life of the former captain of the Indian national women's cricket team, Jhulan Goswami.

Spilling more beans on the upcoming project, a source in the know informs a publication that the film deal is exactly like how the MS Dhoni deal was locked. For the sports film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni was paid a sum of approximately 15 crore to share personal details of his life and Rhiti Sports Management, the company which manages him, came in as a partner to the film in profits and also got a lot of in-film branding at a percentage, aside from the profits. The Jhulan biopic deal is similar in nature. It is good that even women cricketers are getting good deals like their male counterparts when it comes to selling the rights of their lives and career to make movies.

More details on the upcoming project are expected to arrive soon.
