Filmmaker Homi Adajania, who has directed Angrezi Medium for producer Dinesh Vijan, says that there was no alternative to Irrfan Khan and the film was meant to be made with him only, so the team waited for a year for the actor to return and start the shoot.

The director goes on to admit that he is a fan of Irrfan Khan and wanted to work with the talented actor ever since he watched him in Mira Nair’s The Namesake (2006). Recalling his first meeting with Khan, the director says that he met the actor at the film’s screening and got along well. He had watched his directorial debut Being Cyrus (2006) and agreed that they should collaborate.

Apart from Irrfan Khan, Angrezi Medium also features Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobariyal and Kareena Kapoor Khan in important characters. Produced by Maddock Films in association with Jio Studios, the movie is set for its widespread theatrical release on 13th March. Don’t forget to catch it in cinemas near you.
