Tv actress Sumona Chakraborty who came into limelight with the comedy TV shows The Kapil Sharma Show has revealed that she decided to quit smoking two years back and has never touched the cigarette since then. The actress decided after her friend's birthday and nothing could change her resolve.

The actress says that her body rejects smoke now and she can't stand people smoking around her. Sumona Chakraborty took to social media to share this inspirational post.

"2 Years Ago! the week following a dear friend’s bday... I QUIT. Simply went cold turkey. No nicotine patch, no vape. Nothing. Haven't touched since then. Was it difficult, hell yeah? But now my body rejects smoke. Can't stand in a room where ppl are smoking anymore.", said Sumona.

"It is so hard to leave-Until you leave. And then it is the easiest goddamned thing in the world - John Green. Why am I sharing this? Because being an actor is a part of my life. People follow us. Like us. Love us. Criticize us. Admire us. Hopefully, with this, I can inspire a few. The most important reminder being we are all flawed human beings which are quite nonexistent on social media. So here’s a small dose of reality," she wrote.

Sumona Chakraborty was badly trolled for a video where she was seen smoking outside the set of The Kapil Sharma Show. She has come a long way since then. She has also been seen smoking on the set of The Kapil Sharma Show several times and has had an argument with Kapil.

She often smokes in the brakes found in the middle of the shoot. There have been reports that due to Sumona's smoking habit nobody gave her work except Kapil. That's why when Kapil's show went off-air, she had to stay at home

Before starring in Kapil's shows Sumona worked in many TV shows like Bade Achche Lagte Hain, Kasturi, Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi among many others. She started her career with Kasamh Se.
