Just one more episode before Game of Thrones going to wrap up their 8 years series. However, after the second-to-last episode aired, fans raised a petition on Change.org to request HBO to remake season 8 entirely.
After the petition was launched by Dylan D, more than 238,000 fans signed for the remake of Game of Thrones.
"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on," the petition opened.
"This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!" Dylan D wrote.
When Game of Thrones first started in 2011, it gradually captivated the audience all around the world and it has become a runaway hit for HBO. While season 1 to 5 received thunderous responses mostly praising for the bizarre storyline, from season 6 fans saw a blotchy script which turned out quite disappointing for loyal fans.
The latest episode has spearheaded a controversy because Daenerys Targaryen went full made queen despite her character over seven seasons was an intelligent and merciful Queen. Furthermore, the Queen didn't keep her word when she earlier agreed to her hand Tyrion Lannister that she would call off the attack if King Landing rang the bell of surrender. Back to season 7, despite declaring she wouldn't be Queen of the ashes, she turned off her own words and kill thousands of people to revenge.
In a behind the scenes video, Emilia Clarke explained her character's motivation to destroy King Landing in a sudden attack, saying: "Every single thing that’s led her to this point, and there she is, alone. We’ve all got this part of us, that part that goes, I’m gonna put that chocolate cake down. And I’m going to walk away," the actress said.
Emilia concluded by saying: "We can’t be getting into these moral conundrums all the time. I’m not saying chocolate cake is a moral conundrum—eat as much f***ing cake as you want—but those things that you wrestle within yourself."
