Somali Man,112, Getting Married To A Girl, 17, Is The World’s Biggest Age Difference Couple

It must be one of the most special weddings, not only in Somali but all over the world when the couple has a 95-year age gap. The wedding is between a 112-year-old man named Ahmed Muhamed Dore and a 17-year-old teenage girl, Safia Abdullah. By getting married to the young girl, Mr Dore increased the number of his wife by 14.

The bride is happy with the wedding

According to Mr. Dore the groom, his latest bride is just around the age of his great-great-granddaughter. They are from the same village and he had to wait for her for years so that she is old enough to get married.

The old man also added that the bride is open to choice when it comes to the wedding. He proposed to her and convinced her of his love. After that, they went straight into a marriage and the bride’s family also revealed that she was happy with the decision.

As it was one of the most special and one-of-a-kind weddings that ever happened in Somali, it has become the talk of a town for quite a while and sparked controversies as well as mixed opinions. While some people believe that it is marriage as a trade, some others are more optimistic saying age has never been the boundary of love.

Mr. Dora wants to have more children

Mr. Dore is also one of the oldest living persons in the country. The man who was born in 1897 has 14 wives, including the new one, and up to 114 children and grandchildren. However, he still hopes that his young wife can give him more children after getting married.
