Vijay, after tasting huge success with the Atlee-directed action sports drama Bigil (2019), is now working with yet another successful filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj on his next outing, titled Master.

The project has been in news ever since Vijay came onboard to play the male lead in it. The shooting of the much-awaited movie is currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions. Rumours were doing the rounds lately that Master was heading for a direct digital premiere as theatres across the country are currently shut down due to the pandemic. Also, there is no hope that the audience will head to theatres right after the lockdown is lifted. However, the makers have denied the reports of an online release for the film.

Now, another news has emerged in the media. If fresh reports are to be believed, Vijay will be seen in a double role in Master, which is touted to be an action thriller. Reportedly, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has kept a big secret for fans that superstar Vijay will be playing a dual role in the movie. If the news is indeed true, then it is going to be a truly a huge treat for all Vijay fans. Additionally, it will mark his back to back release in a dual role after Bigil.

Apart from Thalapathy Vijay, Master also features Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Ramya, Gouri G Kishan and Brigida Saga in crucial roles. Produced by XB Film Creators in association with Seven Screen Studio, the hugely anticipated film will be entering theatres nationwide after the Coronavirus lockdown comes to an end.
