Vijay Deverakonda Greenlights Vivek Athreya’s Next Directorial? Deets Inside

Vijay Deverakonda, who was last seen in romantic anthology film World Famous Lover (2020), currently has several exciting projects in his pocket. But that is not stopping the southern heartthrob from listening to new scripts and green-lighting a few of them.

If fresh reports are to be believed, Vijay Deverakonda is set to join hands with filmmaker Vivek Athreya who last helmed Brochevarevarura (2019). We hear that the actor has already given his nod to the project. Apart from calling the shots, Athreya will also pen the script of the upcoming film.

Reportedly, the yet to be titled film is a thriller which was supposed to begin production in November 2019. But the project had to be put on hold for some time due to the unavailability of Vijay Deverakonda. However, the makers are now planning to officially announce the film soon, maybe after the nationwide lockdown is lifted.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is currently busy with his multilingual film with director Puri Jagannadh. Tentatively titled Fighter, the film stars Ananya Panday as his leading lady. According to reports, Deverakonda is playing the character of a boxer in the movie. Officially launched in January amid much fanfare, the film’s shooting is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Fighter is being jointly produced by Dharma Productions’ head honcho Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur. Apart from Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, the forthcoming film also stars Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy and Aali in significant characters.

Vijay had also started a film called Hero. He had already shot for a schedule. But if industry insiders are to be believed, the actor will next be seen in a film to be directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by established filmmaker Dil Raju.
