Veteran south actress and filmmaker Vijaya Nirmala passed away yesterday. after being in the hospital for a few days, actress Vijaya Nirmala took her last breath in Hyderabad.
The actress came to limelight with her Some of the memorable roles essayed by the actor include Tata Manavudu, Rangula Ratnam, Buddhimantudu, Om Shanti, Pandanti Kapuram, and Hema Hemeelu.
Several South celebrities like Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi went to pay her last respect at her funeral. Also, Bollywood superhit film Vaastav actress Namrata Shirodkar wrote a heartfelt note to her said that she is the women of substance.
"For me, she was a woman of substance... A woman I traveled with for 14 years of my married life... she was a warm, loving and caring soul... she was strong, brave, fun loving and full of life !! Her zest for life was Uncompromised... she was a visionary and truly ahead of her time in her thoughts and deeds... this was Vijaya Nirmala garu for me! She was a pillar of strength for her family and her loved ones... today I wish her a beautiful journey ahead and send her all the love and light I possibly can...[sic]," wrote Namrata on her Instagram page and page and shared a picture along with the veteran actress.
Vijaya Nirmala directed 44 films in Telugu that made her enter Guinness book of world records. The actress made her way to film industry at the age of seven with a Tamil movie Matsyarekha.
Vijaya Nirmala is the only female directors to have directed legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan. The actress is survived by her son Naresh and husband Krishna. Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala have worked together in more than 50 films.
Vijaya went on to appear in over 200 films in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
Meanwhile, celebrities from the South Indian Film industry and fans have been expressing grief over the death of the legendary actress.
