Suriya Starrer “Soorarai Pottru” To Hit Theatres On THIS Date?

Suriya was last seen in the Kathir-directed action thriller Kaappaan (2019), which turned out to be a huge success at the box-office. The movie hit the marquee in September last year and fans have been missing Suriya on the silver screen ever since.

The actor next stars in the much-awaited Tamil action drama Soorarai Pottru. Recently, the makers dropped a making video of the film, which millions of people watched on YouTube. Now, the news is coming in that the makers are looking at releasing the film during the weekend of Independence Day, 2020. However, an official announcement confirming the same is highly awaited.

If you have seen the making video of Soorarai Pottru, you would remember that some portions in the film had shown Suriya as an 18-year-old boy. The same video also showed the makeup sessions of the actor along with a few glimpses of his looks in the forthcoming Sudha Kongara directorial.

Soorarai Pottru was earlier scheduled to arrive in theatres in Summer 2020. However, the makers had to postpone the release date of the film due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The new release date is expected to be announced right after the lockdown is lifted and cinemas open their gates for the public again.

About the rest of the cast of Soorarai Pottru, the movie features Aparna Balamurali as the female lead opposite Suriya. Karunas and Kaali Venkat will also be seen essaying crucial roles. Seasoned Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal will be making his Kollywood debut with the upcoming film. He plays the main antagonist the Soorarai Pottru.

Jointly bankrolled by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, Soorarai Pottru will also be dubbed and released in Telugu as Aakasam Nee Haddu Ra. More details on the forthcoming project are expected to arrive soon.
