Vijay Deverakonda, who is all set to become the next big thing in the Telugu film industry, has been keeping quite busy of late. Apart from shooting for his upcoming projects, the dashing actor is also busy promoting his much-awaited film Dear Comrade, which is scheduled to roll into theatres on 26th July, 2019.
After establishing himself as one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema, Vijay Deverakonda entered the Tamil film industry with political entertainer Nota (2018). Though the film did not fare commercially well at the cash counter, the actor did manage to garner appreciation from the audience and strengthen his fanbase in Tamil Nadu.
After Nota, Vijay Deverakonda was offered yet another Tamil film titled Hero. The movie was launched a few months ago and the team had even shot some sequences. To be directed by Anand Annamalai and co-starring Malayalam beauty Malavika Mohanan, Hero was to be simultaneously shot in Telugu also.
However, the latest update has it that the bilingual project has been shelved. Yes, you heard that absolutely right! Hero, starring Vijay Deverakonda opposite Malavika Mohanan, has been dropped.
According to reports, the producers at Mythri Movie Makers were not satisfied with the film shot so far. They have now decided to shelve the project despite investing several crores on it making. An official announcement on the film getting shelved is expected to arrive soon.
If the news about Hero getting shelved is indeed true, then Vijay Deverakonda has no other film in his hand after the release of Dear Comrade. The remake rights of Dear Comrade have been recently bought by Hindi filmmaker Karan Johar who will remake it under his banner Dharma Productions. Reportedly, Deverakonda was offered to reprise his role in the Hindi remake as well. However, the rising star turned down the offer for reasons best known to him.
