“Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham”: Poster Featuring Keerthy Suresh Unveiled

“Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham” is a forthcoming Malayalam movie helmed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. It is based on sailor Kunjali Marakkar IV.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is an upcoming Malayalam film which has been in news ever since it was officially announced. Based on the life of sailor Kunjali Marakkar IV a.k.a Mohammed the naval chieftain of the Samoothiri Kingdom in the 16th century, the film has been directed by celebrated filmmaker Priyadarshan.

Award-winning Malayalam film actor Mohanlal will be seen portraying the character of sailor Kunjali Marakkar IV in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. The historical drama reunites Mohanlal and Priyadarshan after a short break. It is touted to be the most expensive film ever made in the history of Malayalam cinema.

The makers had kept fans on tenterhooks with the upcoming historical drama. But the audiences heaved a sigh of relief when the team went on to release the poster featuring the leading lady of the film alongside Mohanlal. The poster went viral in no time and garnered a lot of attention and praises from the audiences.

It sees National Film Award-winning actress Keerthi Suresh who is finally making a comeback to Malayalam cinema with the upcoming Mohanlal starrer Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. Her previous outings in Malayalam cinema include Geethaanjali (2013), Ring Master (2014) and Darboni (2015).

Clad in a brown sari and halter neck blouse with a bindi on her forehead, the actress is a sight for sore eyes. She looked like a dream in her all rustic avatar while Mohanlal looks fierce as a warrior. The actress portrays the character Aarcha in the movie. According to reports, Keerthy Suresh is not appearing in a full-fledged role in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham but will be seen in a cameo appearance.

Apart from them, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham also stars Manju Warrier, Suniel Shetty, Keerthi Suresh, Arjun Sarja, Suhasini, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Mukesh, Pranav Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan among others. Antony Perumbavoor is bankrolling the project under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. The film is currently in its post-production stage and will hit the screen on March 19, 2020.
