Junior NTR is one of the most popular actors down South. He is currently busy shooting for ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s forthcoming directorial venture, tentatively titled RRR. To be made on a huge scale, the upcoming period drama also features Ram Charan in the lead role, while Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt will be seen doing important cameos. Since the movie is scheduled to hit the marquee in 2020, the entire team is working assiduously to wrap it up on time.
We hear that the makers of the forthcoming multilingual Jayalalithaa biopic, titled Thalaivi, approached Junior NTR to play the character of his grandfather and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rao. However, the actor turned down the offer for reasons best known to him.
A popular entertainment portal reports that Junior NTR did not take up the role as he felt that nobody can play the person that his grandfather was onscreen, due to the complexities of his character being rather difficult to replicate. Junior NTR is a young actor and many of his films have seen him play aspects of his legendary grandfather, but it seems he is rather hesitant in representing his grandfather as a full-fledged character in Thalaivi.
Meanwhile, the makers of Thalaivi unveiled the first poster and teaser of the movie, which went viral on social media within minutes of getting uploaded. Three-time National Film Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut is playing the central character in the biopic, while South star Aravind Swamy has been roped in to play MGR. More actors are expected to join the star cast of the film soon.
Thalaivi is directed by A. L. Vijay. The multilingual film is being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Produced by Vibri and Karma Media & Entertainment, the biopic is slated to hit the silver screen on 26th June, 2020.
