Dhanush, who was most recently seen in his Hollywood debut The Extraordinary Journey Of A Fakir (2019), has not signed many films lately.
He is currently working on filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s upcoming directorial venture Asuran, which is an action entertainer, starring him in a dual role of father and son.
If reports are to be believed, he has also signed a film with filmmaker Durai Senthilkumar, known for films such as Kaaki Sattai (2015) and Kodi (2016).
The latest we hear that Dhanush has just joined hands with successful Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj for a film. After finalizing Dhanush for the male role, Subbaraj has now reportedly signed on popular Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi to play the female lead in the untitled film.
Aishwarya, who is a force to reckon with in the Malayalam film industry, is gearing up to make her Tamil debut with an untitled film to be directed by Sundar C. If all goes well, she will romance Dhanush in her second Tamil offering.
Starring Dhanush in the lead role, the untitled film is expected to begin its first shooting schedule in the month of August in London. The project is being bankrolled by Sashikanth under the banner Y NOT Studios. Thirunavukarasu is expected to cinematograph the film.
More details about the rest of the cast and crew are being kept under the wraps at the moment. Buzz has it that the team is looking at announcing the project officially in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently busy shooting for Asuran, which marks his fourth collaboration with director Vetrimaaran.
He has also initiated the process of acquiring the remake rights of Bollywood film Andhadhun (2018) which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in lead roles.
