After "Judwaa 2", Jacqueline Fernandez Eager To Romance Varun Dhawan In "Coolie No.1"?

The comic-caper, to be directed by ace filmmaker David Dhawan, already stars Sara Ali Khan as the female lead. But since it is a two-heroine project, the makers will need one more actress to complete the lead cast.

Keeping the failure of Kalank (2019) at bay, Bollywood star Varun Dhawan will soon kick-start his next film Coolie No.1. As the title of the movie suggests itself, Coolie No.1 will be a modernized adaptation of the 1995 cult film of the same name. The original movie had Govinda and Karisma Kapoor playing principal roles.

Varun Dhawan’s filmmaker father David Dhawan is helming the remake. Interestingly, he was also the director of the original film. And now, the filmmaker has teamed up with his star son to weave the same cinematic magic again.

Talking about the female lead, newcomer Sara Ali Khan has been roped in to play the female part in the remake. Sara made her silver screen debut with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath (2018), co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput.

People who have seen the original film would know that Coolie No.1 had two actresses. While Karisma Kapoor played the lead heroine, actress Kanchan did a fabulous job in a supporting role. After locking Sara Ali Khan for the leading role, the makers are currently looking for an actress who could play Kanchan’s part in the remake.

The latest we hear that actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who romanced Varun Dhawan in David Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 (2017), is keen to join forces with the young star again. She is eager to play the supporting role in Coolie No.1. If the makers pay some attention to her wish and take her onboard, Jacqueline Fernandez will essay the character of Sara Ali Khan’s sister in the comic caper.

Coolie No.1, which is set to start production soon, will be bankrolled by well-known producer Vashu Bhagnani, who also produced the original movie in 1995. Written by screenwriter-director Farhad Samji, the much-awaited remake will roll into cinemas on 1^st May 2020.

We're sure that if Jacqueline Fernandez joins the cast of the film, it will be an icing on the cake. We hope either Jacqueline Fernandez or the makers of the movie will make an official announcement soon.
