Bhumi Pednekar To Reunite With Akshay Kumar In The Horror Film “Durgavati”

Actress Bhumi Pednekar will appear in the Hindi horror film “Durgavati” as a version of “Bhaagamathie” which is scheduled to shoot in January.

Bagging many important roles in some 2019 hits such as Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, and Pati Patni Aur Woh, Bhumi Pednekar seems to master a blooming year of her acting career. Receiving a lot of praise for her performances in Saand Ki Aankh and Bala, the actress continued her excellent work with the latest release.
Apart from acting, Bhumi also ruled several headlines for her style statement. She is already starting a busy schedule of 2020 ahead that she will shoot for the Hindi remake of Bhaaganmathie on January 14th. The horror film Durgavati will also mark the appearance of Akshay Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra.
As per a Mumbai Mirror report, the actress will portray as an IAS officer and the shooting of the film will happen in some real places including Sadar Manzil, Moti Mahal, Bhopal’s Old Central jail, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology and some others else. Durgavati marks the second collaboration between the Khiladi of Bollywood and Bhumi Pednekar after their first venture in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
The plot of the film will tell about a lady impounded in a haunted residence during a corruption interrogation. Her look in the movie is reported to appear larger and Durgavati is still on the progress of casting some supporting roles.
The original Telugu film is directorial by G. Ashok and hit the theatre in 2018. It features Anushka Shetty in Bhumi Pednekar’s character in the remake while Jayaram, Muralo Sharma, Asha Sarath, and Unni Mukundan played the other important characters in the film. Before making an appearance in Durgavati, the 30-year-old actress joined another story of an abandoned ship in the film Bhoot-Part One – The Haunted Ship produced by Karan Johar. On the work front, she will also play a pivotal role in Karan’s Takht.
