One of the hardest thing in life is letting go of something you thought to be your real love. It does not matter how your relationship ends, positively or negatively, you will still feel vulnerable thinking that you have to be alone from now on. What you need to do is get yourself out of those chaos step by step. However, it is easier said than done. It will be better if you have someone next to you and help you move on. You will need your best friend, and if your friend has the same situation, he or she will also need your hands.
Being in an unexpected situation, you may not be sure what is best for your bestie at that moment. Don't worry, here are five things that you should do to cheer your BFF up after a breakup!
Hanging out together for a whole day
It is never a good idea to give boring lectures to someone who is already heartbroken. You should plan to take your friend out for a day, enjoying a delicious meal or having a cup of coffee together.
Tip: If you have time and your budget is not that tight, you can take your friend out for a short trip exploring nature.
Sleepover party, old but gold
Just like the time when two of you were still teenagers, a sleepover party is always a good chance for friends to gather around and spend time doing random things together. After a breakup, your BFF will surely need an opportunity like that. Both of you can have a heart-to-heart conversation, in which your friend feel comfortable to let her stories out. You listen to his or her problem, and then both of you can figure it out together.
Help them enjoy their hobbies
Making oneself busy doing something new is an excellent way to forget about those heartbroken memories. Of course, it does not mean that your friend has to be on a new date. It is about a new habit or hobby, or just something that your BFF used to have interest but he or she did not have much time to do it before.
Watch favourite movies together
Spend time watching movies from around the world is always a perfect idea. Those kinds of movies help you learn more about the people, the cultures and subjects. They turn out to be the best distraction for your BFF, helping he or she slowly forget about the hurtful love-life.
Tip: Besides movies, books also help.
Let them have their own space for a while
You love your friend, but that does not mean you should be overprotective about him or her. You should let them breathe for a while in their own space. Allow your BFF to cry and sympathise with his or her situation. Venting it all out is always better than keeping it inside!
