Speaking at the recent Netflix event ‘See What’s Next: Asia’, the actor divulged a secret about her involvement and confirmed it is "another flashback". All Amazonians are immortal and stay young and beautiful forever. Therefore in the new film, Antiope shall be again mentoring younger Diana a historical past lesson and some fighting technique or to reflect on some inspirational advice from Themyscira that Diana will use in her adulthood as Wonder Woman.
In the 2017 blockbuster, the Amazonian warrior Antiope was killed by a German soldier when trying to save Diana during an invasion Robin. Interestingly, this sequel will bring her back.
The story's setting is in 1984 and follows Diana Prince as she reunites with Steve Trevor to fight against a new villain force. The film sees Patty Jenkins helm and is adapted from a screenplay written by director Jenkins, Dave Callaham, and Geoff Johns. Gal Gadot is also reportedly confirmed to reprise her titular role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to land in theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
