Venom Eyes $500 Million At Worldwide Box Office

Marvel antihero film Venom continues to dominate the worldwide box office.

Sony’s latest Marvel adaptation Venom has crossed 500 million dollars in worldwide tallies. Although the film has been receiving harsh reviews when releasing, there’s no doubt that Ruben Fleischer’s film has been performing unexpectedly successfully and a surprise box-office hit so far.

‘Venom’ stomps past $500 million at worldwide box office

The film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock is about to come to its fourth weekend. When the film was first announced, it drew a significant amount of attention from the public, especially movie buffs.

However, Venom just sit at a ‘rotten’ 28% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. Criticizers didn’t highly appreciate Sony’s adaptation comparing with upcoming films namely A Star is Born or other superhero films.

Nevertheless, the box office numbers which Venom earned surely surprise anyone.

At this moment, Venom has brought the total to $175.3 million domestically and has topped the international box office for three weeks consecutively. It has reached $28.9 million in Korea, $28.8 million in Russia, $22.5 million in the U.K, $21.7 million in Mexico and $15.8 million in Brazil.

Venom follows Eddie Brock when he tries his best to investigate a notorious businessman (Carlton Drake ) whose experiments into alien symbiotes are putting innocent people in danger. Finally, his body becomes the host for an alien with enhanced powers.

Now, Venom is enjoying a very successful run at the box office, indeed.
