Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas To Executive Produce A Sangeet-Themed Project For Amazon Prime

By this time last year, the lavish wedding of desi girl Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas found itself in the center of attention. Besides the traditional functions, the blockbuster sangeet which soon turned out to be a top-notch concert was an ideal curtain-raiser to their wedding.

Now, after one year, PeeCee who always believes in the concept of blending cultures has successfully roped in her husband Nick to host a dance reality show on the theme of sangeet for Amazon Prime.

On Thursday morning, the Isn’t It Romantic star took to her Instagram handle to drop this big news along with a lengthy caption. However, the project is yet to be titled and the details will be unveiled later.

She said,

Amazon has greenlit this unscripted show inspired by the traditional pre-wedding tradition in India called the Sangeet. For those unversed, the Sangeet is held the night before the official wedding ceremony with the purpose of bringing two families together for a performance-filled evening of songs and dance.

The series will follow the engaged couples who are preparing for their sangeet. Casting is now underway and filming is scheduled to take place next year.

Couple Priyanka and Nick will executive produce the show with Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, and many more. Interestingly, PC will produce under her Purple Pebble Productions while her hubby will produce via his Image 32 banner.

Taking about their professional front, it’s not wrong to say both of their profiles have been skyrocketed ever since the wedding. Nick Jonas and his sibling boy band Jonas Brother successfully made their comeback after a 6-year hiatus. Meanwhile, Priyanka is also busy with a host of projects lined up.
