Yami Gautam Seeks No Validation, Actress Reacts On Filmfare Row

The 65th Filmfare award held in Guwahati, Assam became one of the most controversial award event held in Bollywood history. Netizens slammed Filmfare and called it a fixed affair. Yami Gautam, one of the versatile actress was ignored by the jury for her role in Bala. In a statement released by the actress, she revealed that though her work was not awarded but recognition of her work by the jury makes her feel important. Yami Gautam was one of the nominee in the best supporting actress category.

#BoycottFilmfare and #UnfairFilmfare was trending on social media platforms after Gully Boy received 13 awards in various categories. Yami Gautam received several messages asking why she was ignored by jury for best supporting actress category. To which the actress stated that winning an award does give a strong achievement but being in the list of nominee is a mark of being recognized for the work in Bala. However, its juries choice and they are very experienced in the film industry to judge the award. She respects the perspectives of the jury and accept it respectfully.

The actress also said that she keeps on learning from such experiences and this makes her more strong and determined. However, she does not want to seek validation for her work from anyone. She has received humongous support and love from the industry, critics, media and her fans. This keeps her strong and helps her to boost for working harder. She advised her fans to not matter where one comes from. One should not give up and keep walking ahead as its a long journey and she is a hustler for life.

Yami Gautam co-starred with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in film Bala. Filmfare was also condemned for overlooking the song Teri Mitti from Kesari after which Manoj Muntashir announced that he will no longer be part of any award event until his last breath. Several performances of actors Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Ankita Lokhande and several others were ignored by the jury.
