India's gay rom com has received a huge response from the audience. In a major boost for the film, US President Donald Trump has shown his support for Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar starrer film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. This weekend, it received a huge response from the film and collected more than Rs 10 crore. The film revolves around a love story of same sex couple and their struggle to convince parents has been loved by youths and especially the LGBTQ community of India.
Peter Tatchell, an activist fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ community praised Ayushmann Khurrana's film and said that it is hoping to win over older people and their thoughts on gay romance. Supreme Court of India recently decriminalized homosexuality by scrapping section 377. After Supreme Court of India ordered decriminalization of section 377, Indian and international LGBTQ+ community cheered and hailed the order of apex court.
On the tweet of activist Tatchell, Donald Trump retweeted the post and wrote Great as his comment. This tweet comes when Donald Trump is all set to visit Ahmedabad in India. He will be attending the event in Motera Stadium which is considered as world's biggest stadium. A 22 km long road show has been organized by the Indian government to welcome Donald Trump.
Reacting to the tweet of Donald Trump, Ayushmann Khurrana wrote that he felt great after seeing the tweet of US President Donald Trump and said that the comment is a gesture to reach out to LGBTQ community and he hopes that he will work towards protecting the rights of the community. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan hit the theatres in India on February 21. It is directed by debutant director Hitesh Kewalya and also sees Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao playing pivotal roles.
