Uri: The Surgical Strike Has Become A High-grossing Film In The Opening Day

It can't be denied that films focusing on patriotism theme usually becomes a box-office hit. Catching that trend, film director Aditya Dhar has taken inspiration from it to produce the action film Uri: The Surgical Strike. The film takes the setting of the surgical strikes happening at the end of September in 2016. The Indian Army led the strikes with seven terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control against an attack at Uri in that month.
Aditya Dhar's film is highly expected at the box office
Hot Bollywood stars like Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, and Kirti Kulhari will play the starring role in the movie. Soon after, the film has caught all attention from the critics. The audience was also excited to flock to the movie theatres for watching it. Surprisingly, Uri: The Surgical Strike reached Rs 8.20 crore just in the first day.
Lakshana Palat, a critic from Indian Today, rated the film 3 stars in 5. In Lakshana's review, she wrote "Keeping the affiliations of Uri the film aside (which is a task in itself), it is a decent film for most parts. The first half is far more gripping than the second. Post-intermission, the makers themselves seem over-excited, to the point of losing control of the narrative,"
Sharing in an interview with IANS, Vicky said that Uri: The Surgical Strike is something they are proud of. The actor also denied allegations that the film supported the governing party. He claimed that director Aditya Dhar shows a passionate love to the army and this film is as a tribute to the military.
Aditya Dhar's film hits theaters on the same day with The Accidental Prime Minister, a movie by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte. Uri: The Surgical Strike seems to have more advantages than Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna-starrer.
The Accidental Prime Minister, however, seems to surpass its "opponent" Uri: The Surgical Strike at the ticket box.
