The result of the highly anticipated poll Time of India’s Top 50 Most Desirable Men of 2018 has finally been released. As one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, it’s no surprise when Randeep Singh Hooda once again made his way to the list. The handsome hunk climbed seven places on the list, from No.39 in 2017 to No.32 in 2018.
Randeep Singh Hooda, who is known for his impressive acting skills, went through lots of difficulties during his earlier days in the film industry. However, with his non-stop effort and a never-give-up spirit, he gradually received recognition from the audience.

He was a lonely child
Randeep Singh Hooda was born to Ranbir Hooda and Asha Devi Hooda on 20 August 1976 in Rohtak, Haryana, India. He spent most of his childhood with his maternal grandmother because his parents always had to travel far away from home for work. In an interview, Randeep shared that his childhood was not pleasant because of this and he sometimes felt as if he was betrayed and abandoned by his own family.
He was a naughty student
During his school days, Randeep always loved teasing his teachers and classmates, and he was called as Randeep Don Hooda due to his mischievous nature.
He got a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree
Top 50 Most Desirable Men lister is one of the Bollywood stars who have received their higher degrees from the world’s top university, which is probably the reason to make him one of Top 50 Desirable Men. He got a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management at the University of Melbourne. Randeep made his Bollywood debut in 2001
Randeep made his silver screen debut in 2001 film Monsoon Wedding opposite Mira Nair. The film also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, Shefali Shah, Jas Arora and Ram Kapoor in the significant roles.
While Monsoon Wedding was a critical and commercial success, Randeep couldn’t receive any fame or recognition as he had to wait for four years to receive his next film D, which unfortunately failed to perform well at the box office.
He shot to fame with Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster
However, after a long wait and a slew of forgettable roles, Randeep struck gold with Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. He followed it up with an outstanding performance in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster the next year, which earned him an IIFA Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
As his career progressed, Randeep chose to play challenging roles, and one of those was a homosexual husband in Bombay Talkies. He also became the first leading man in Bollywood to kiss another man in a film. After that, he went on to win hearts with his brilliant role in Imtiaz Ali's Highway.
He loves horses and Polo
Apart from acting, Randeep has a passion for Polo, and he owns a polo team named Royal Roosters.
Besides, he also loves writing and used to write a blog for English daily newspaper Hindustan Times. In 2009, Randeep was a guest contributor to In the Script, a column published by Asian Correspondent. He wrote about his experience in Australia, where he was subjected to racial discrimination in the article titled Racism Against Indians in Australia.

Randeep fell head over heels in love with former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen on the sets of Manish Gupta’s directorial venture Karma and Holi. Sadly, the couple parted ways after about three years of dating.
