Sushmita Sen To Return To The Film Industry After A Decade Of Sabbastical

Recently, Sushmita Sen has made an announcement of her comeback to movies after nearly ten years setting her career aside. The actress shared her news on Instagram and mentioned that it was for her fans’ encouragement that she would get on board for movies again.

Her caption reads,

In a previous interview with film critic Rajeev Masand, Sen had asserted that she consciously decided to put films aside when she had adopted her second daughter Alisah nine years ago. Sushmita said she didn’t want to go without witnessing her daughter’s early milestones.

The actress added that she was aware of what people say, that her best time is the sprightly years that she can do movies and looks more juvenile. She wondered whether she would regret it if she did not act then and put her focus on her adoption. She also had a question for herself that between going for films and opting not to stay by Alisah’s side, which one would she regret more? And the answer was mostly obvious.

Sushmita was troubled as she missed the chance to see the big moments of her first daughter Renee when she was caught up in being the “provider” and hence failed to be the “nurturer” at that time. The former Miss Universe didn’t want the same thing to happen with Alisah.

She said that it was not just the first word or the first step that she missed out on Renee but it was her daughters’ personality development. She aspired to see them growing with her own eyes as she didn’t sponsor a kid, she became a mother.

Moreover, Sushmita Sen shared that she never regretted her break from the screens. Wanting to see her younger child grow in the formative years, she said that after Alisha is six, she can be back to work. She is assertive that her filmy career of hers can be done then but this, she cannot miss.
