Shahid Kapoor is set to headline yet another remake of a blockbuster Telugu film after the riotous success of Kabir Singh (2019).
As we know that Kabir Singh, also starring Kiara Advani in the lead role, was an official remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy (2017), which went on to set the box-office on fire.
After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has been confirmed to play the male lead in the Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey (2019) which originally starred Nani.
Just like Kabir Singh, Jersey is going to be another emotionally charged, engaging film for the audience. The Hindi version of the movie will be directed by South Indian filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanauri.
Tinnanauri also called the shots for the original Telugu version of the film. Sharing his excitement, the director told a publication,
For the uninitiated, Jersey revolves around a player named Arjun who is trying hard to make his dreams come true to make it big in Indian cricket. Besides Nani, the movie also featured Shraddha Srinath and Harish Kalyan in important roles. It turned out to be a major success upon its release.
The Hindi remake of the film is being produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju. The remake will hit the screens worldwide on August 28, 2020.
Regular shooting will commence soon. More details are awaited.
