While the number of confirmed cases who test positive to coronavirus in India continues to grow, the government warned people to avoid public places as much as possible. While many gym, schools, and theaters have been closed, Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput were clicked outside a deluxe gym last Sunday evening.

Although the couple quickly moved out of the spotted area, the photo raised questions about why the gym is still open despite the authority’s shutdown order.

The gym owner's explanation

Why controversy and speculations are doing rounds on the internet, the gym owner Yudhishthir Jaising who is also a friend of Shahid finally opened up on the real reason. According to Jaising, Shahid was on the set of his film in Chandigarh and got an inquiry with his tendonitis. He contacted Jaising and asked for some equipment so he opened the gym to show him what he needed.

The gym owner also added that he was a close friend of the Kabir Singh superstar and his wife. They usually train and workout together at each other’s homes.

On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor also came out to make things clear with a tweet, explaining what exactly happens during the shoot of his upcoming film Jersey. The superstar claims that he is fully aware of his social responsibility and trying his best to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

On the work front, after the immense success of blockbuster Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor will be seen next in a sports drama Jersey. Helmed by director Gowtham Tinnanuri, the movie also features Pankaj Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in main leads.

However, the shoot of Jersey as been suspended due to the outbreak of coronavirus in India so all members can stay safe inside their homes.
