Shah Rukh Khan And Farah Khan To Reteam For “Satte Pe Satta” Remake?

Shah Rukh Khan is, it seems, yet to come to terms with the epic failure of his ambitious film, Zero (2018). Also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, Zero was one of the most expensive films produced by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. A lot was riding on the movie. However, it opened to poor response at the box-office and could not even touch the much-coveted ₹ 100 crore marks by the end of its run.

After the release of Zero, Shah Rukh Khan was expected to work on Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala’s Saare Jahan Se Achcha, a biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma. However, the failure of Zero hit the superstar so hard that he walked out of the Rakesh Sharma biopic weeks before the film was set to roll.

Then rumors started doing the rounds that Khan will join the forces with Farhan Akhtar for Don 3. However, Akhtar quashed all such reports, saying that he is yet to lock the final script for the third installment of the Don (2006) franchise. The actor-filmmaker is currently working on his next film, Toofan. He will work on Don 3 only after completing his ongoing project.

After a brief break, Shah Rukh Khan’s name is being associated with yet another film. According to reports, the superstar is considering to topline filmmaker Farah Khan’s next. The film is an official remake of cult classic Satte Pe Satta (1982), originally starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Ranjeeta Kaur, Amjad Khan, and Shakti Kapoor, among others.

Some media outlets also report that after initiating talks with Shah Rukh Khan, filmmaker Farah Khan has also approached Katrina Kaif to play the female lead in the remake. But since the actress is presently busy with the promotions of her upcoming film Bharat, she will sit and discuss the Satte Pe Satta remake with Farah later.
