Sanya Malhotra To Keep Extremely Busy Throughout 2020

Sanya Malhotra made her acting debut with Dangal (2016). Despite the presence of megastar Aamir Khan in the lead role, she managed to impress critics and audiences with her power-packed performance in the biographical sports drama. The actress later proved her versatility with such films as Pataakha (2018) and Badhaai Ho (2018).

In 2019, Sanya Malhotra had only one release – Photograph. The film, also featuring National Film Award winning actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the male lead, did not leave the cash registers jingling at the box-office, but the actress did receive praises for her performance in the Ritesh Batra directorial.

Sanya Malhotra is going to keep extremely busy in 2020 as she has some interesting projects lined up for theatrical release throughout the year. To begin with, one of her most anticipated movies of 2020 is Shakuntala Devi. The film is a biopic based on the life of Indian writer and mental calculator Shakuntala Devi, popularly known as the human computer.

National Film Award winning actress Vidya Balan is playing Shakuntala Devi in the film, while Sanya Malhotra will be seen as her daughter. The first look of the film is already out for which the Dangal girl received loads of appreciation.

Her next release will be Pagglait. Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Guneet Monga under her banner Sikhya Entertainment, the movie is currently being shot in Lucknow. It is expected to hit the screens in the second half of 2020.

Sanya Malhotra has also wrapped up an untitled film, directed by renowned filmmaker Anurag Basu. The actress is paired opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in the movie. It will release in 2020, but the official release date is yet to be locked. All her three projects are very different from one other, promising stellar performances from the talented actress.
