Sanjay Dutt Acquires Remake Rights Of Cult Comic-Caper “Padosan”

According to reports, Sanjay Dutt is planning to remake one of the cult comic-capers “Padosan”, which had his father Sunil Dutt in an important role. Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao may join the cast.

Sanjay Dutt, who celebrated his 60th birthday recently, is trying to keep himself as busy as possible. Apart from filming several projects simultaneously, the superstar is also trying to establish his production house, Sanjay Dutt Productions. His next production venture is Prasthanam which is gearing up for its release on 20th September.

The teaser of the much-awaited film was unveiled a couple of days ago, which garnered good responses from the audience. And now, the news is coming in that Sanjay Dutt has zeroed in on his next film as a producer.

Buzz has it that Sanjay Dutt has acquired the remake rights of the 1968 cult comic-caper Padosan. Starring his father Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar, Mehmood and Saira Banu in lead roles, Padosan turned out to be an instant hit upon its box-office release.

The film still attracts a huge viewership on its television premieres. It has now been revealed that Sanjay Dutt has acquired the remake rights of the film from a leading distribution company.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt is presently busy shooting for his upcoming movies like Bhuj: The Pride of India and Sadak 2. He also has Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera with Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor. The actor will shortly be seen in filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker’s much-awaited historical was drama Panipat with Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
