Rajinikanth And Akshay Kumar's Blockbuster "2.0" To Reveal The Release Date In China

Hitting the theatre last year on November 29, Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 became one of the most successful blockbusters of 2018 with Rs 800 core of box office collection. After doing wonders in India, the sci-fi action film is aimed to conquer the second largest movie market in the world, China. In fact, the film is going to release to this country on July 12.

The First Tamil Film Is About To Release To China

Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his Twitter an official announcement of the release of the film, in which the Chinese title will be Robot 2.0: Resurgence. According to him, the movie will also break another record, become the first foreign movie in China with the biggest IMAX 3D screen ever.

Lyca Production To Confirm The News

2.0’s production house, Lyca Production, also confirmed the news, saying that they are associating with HY Media, one of the biggest Chinese Production and Distribution companies to release the magnum opus to the most populous country in the world.

HY Media is also well-known for its cooperation with Hollywood biggest studios including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Universal, Warner Bros, and Disney. Meanwhile, the 2.0 Chinese subtitled and dubbed versions will be slated to hit more than 10,000 theatres with 56,000 screens, in which 47,000 screens are in 3D.

Recognizing China as one of the most potential markets for Indian films, Lyca Production also adds that they’re looking forward to long-term cooperation with HY Media.

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 revolves around the fight between super intelligent AI Chitti fights and the supervillain (Akshay), who has a unique telekinesis ability to control cell phones. Apart from superstars  Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, the movie also features Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in the lead roles.
