Neena Gupta Discouraged Daughter Masaba From Acting: "You Will Never Become Alia Bhatt"

Neena Gupta, one of the most phenomenal actresses in Bollywood, revealed about the time her daughter Masaba wanted to become an actress but she advised her against following a career in acting.

Veteran actor Neena Gupta was one of the most talented actors in the 1980s Bollywood and a contemporary of Smita Patil, Dipti Naval, and Shabana Azmi. Recently, she earned positive reviews and accolades for her role in film Badhaai Ho and was awarded various rewards.

During an interview with Rajeev MasandNeena Gupta got candidly about her status as a single mother and how she advised daughter Masaba to let go of her thoughts of entering the acting career.

On being asked about raising Masaba as an unwed mother, Neena revealed she felt guilty when she couldn't give her daughter a conventional family.

The actress shared she doesn't regret her decision to be an unwed mom but advised the young not to follow her steps because it was a tough decision.

Talking about Masaba's aspiration to work in Bollywood industry, Neena said that she had convinced her to give up acting career; because of her look and body, she wouldn't be able to sign many roles.
