Veteran actor Neena Gupta was one of the most talented actors in the 1980s Bollywood and a contemporary of Smita Patil, Dipti Naval, and Shabana Azmi. Recently, she earned positive reviews and accolades for her role in film Badhaai Ho and was awarded various rewards.
During an interview with Rajeev Masand, Neena Gupta got candidly about her status as a single mother and how she advised daughter Masaba to let go of her thoughts of entering the acting career.
On being asked about raising Masaba as an unwed mother, Neena revealed she felt guilty when she couldn't give her daughter a conventional family.
The actress shared she doesn't regret her decision to be an unwed mom but advised the young not to follow her steps because it was a tough decision.
For the ones who don’t know, Neena has led the life of a single mother for many years of her life. Masaba is her love child with the cricketer, Vivian Richards. Later, in 2008, she went on to marry entrepreneur, Vivek Mehra. Talking about her motherhood journey, Neena in an interview revealed,
