According to Gupta, during her heyday, she gained great success in every field including directing, writing and producing. However, her personal life highly affected her career. Sharing to PTI, Gupta said: "As women, we have the right to be loved and cared. But this doesn't mean that we have to take too much responsibility on caring home to forget our demands for work."

Though our modern times accepted that both male and female have equal rights and duties, there's no man truly accept this statement. It's really hard for them to accept a women whose the same or higher position. This prevents women from chasing their dreaming career. Marriage equals ending the career.

"Whether women should act strongly or not is a big issue. I'm not sure whether any woman on earth is completely contented with her living styles and the behaviours of people around her," Gupta emphasized.

Besides, Gupta showed her belief in the #MeToo movement's ability to change the current situation, especially in the film industry. However, the process of collecting evidence on sexual harassment meet lots of hardships. This makes Gupta really upset. She recounted the times being a student in NSD. We couldn't raise our voice in case of being touched inappropriately since we have no evidence. Instead, we try to adapt or avoid as fast as possible.

Gupta does hope that the #MeToo movement will have certain effects on these vile behaviours though it needs a lot of time. "To improve the current situation, we have to change mothers' patriarchal mindset.", Gupta emphasized. The mothers' mindset change means their sons' behaviour also change positively.
