Kriti Sanon: People don’t look at your acting if you’re in glamorous role

Kriti Sanon said filmmakers are approaching her with meatier characters now. “It’s weird but when you are in a de-glamorous role people see your acting more."

Actor Kriti Sanon says it was until Bareilly Ki Barfi that people paid attention to her talent as she believes there is a common perception that if an actor is not glamorous, she will act well.

Kriti Sanon made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with “Heropanti”, then featured in the big venture “Dilwale” starring Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. However, her game has changed drastically since her role as a small girl in 2017 Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's film.

Kriti added that she now maintains confidence to take adventures, “When you don’t have someone backing you, you do feel scared to be doing something away from what is expected of a normal heroine. When you step out of the conventional commercial space, you think ‘what if it doesn’t work.’ Today I feel I’m more greedy as an actor.”

Kriti Sanon will next feature in Luka Chuppi, which will release in March 2019, co-starring Kartik Aaryan. Kartik Aaryan plays a local TV reporter in the film while Kriti will be seen playing the role of a strong headed girl from Mathura.
