KGF has defeated Shahrukh Khan's most expensive movies in his career Zero, at the box office this weekend.

KGF has been running exceptionally better than Shahrukh Khan’s Zero at the box office. The period drama KGF has broken a record in Karnataka cinema with a magnificent opening. The film has collected ₹ 596.1 million while Zero earned about  ₹ 590.7 million for its opening weekend.

One thing should be noticed that KGF came out in multiple languages while Zero mainly focused on North India market. According to business analyst Taran Adarsh, the Hindi version of KGF has earned ₹ 100 million.

The business analyst wrote that this South Hindu movie, starring Yash, had ‘gone from strength to strength’ in the weekend, earning  ₹ 181 million and  ₹192 million on Friday and Saturday and a further ₹218 million on Sunday. Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan’s much-awaited movie Zero collected  ₹ 201 million in its opening and followed with ₹ 182 million on Saturday and  ₹ 207 million on Sunday.

Both movies gained mixed reviews from the critics; however, while KGF was made on a budget of ₹ 500 million, Zero was produced on a budget of ₹ 2 billion. According to Taran Adarsh, a business analyst, Wednesday and Thursday will be a “real test" for the movie. It is also expected to experience growth on the Christmas day.
