The Much-Awaited Karan Johar Directorial “Takht” To Miss Early 2020 Release

After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), Karan Johar is set to helm his most ambitious film to date, Takht. The ace filmmaker announced the high-profile period drama in 2018, along with sharing the entire star cast.

The film will feature Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Takht is being touted as the most expensive film to ever come out from the stable of Dharma Productions.

Though the project is yet to mount the shooting floors, the fear of delay in its production has forced the makers to delay its release. Takht was earlier set to hit the marquee at the beginning of 2020. However, if the latest reports are to be believed, the historical drama has been pushed ahead and will not be able to enter cinemas before the end of 2020.

Spilling some beans on the delay, a source reveals to an entertainment portal that the pre-production of the film has taken more time than expected. The movie, which was set to begin production in June-July, will now hit the shooting floor towards the end of the year.
