Kangana Ranaut And Thalaivi Filmmakers To Be Sued By Jayalalithaa's Neice

Kangana Ranaut and filmmakers of Thalaivi could face a legal civil suit against them. Niece of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa have recently been granted permission by the Madras High Court to file a case against the filmmakers. Deepa was shocked to find that the filmmakers without taking any permission from the family filmed an entire film on her deceased aunt.

The film has been directed by AL Vijay and he recently released the first look of Thalaivi with Kangana Ranaut portraying both the yesteryear cine star version of Jayalalithaa and her role as the state's most powerful leader. Along with the poster, a short teaser of a scene from Vennira Aadai, shot in 1964, too was re-enacted. Jayalalithaa had played the role of Shobha opposite actor Sreekanth, who came to be known Vennira Aadai Sreekanth following the success of the movie.

The entire incident started in November when Deepa moved Madras High Court claiming that she was a legal heir of Jayalalithaa and had not given any permission to filmmakers for producing a film on the life of AIADMK chief. The the film will be produced both in Hindi and Tamil, director Gautham Vasudev Menon, too, has proposed a web series on Jayalalithaa, titled Queen and starring Ramya Krishnan.

Meanwhile, Deepa has said in the court that she wants the entire script to be submitted to her and that her explicit permission should be sought to make the content. The application states, the movie may affect her aunt's and, by extension, her family's privacy. She alleged that the filmmakers intended to release the film for their commercial and monetary benefits, and without the consent of the legal heirs.

Recently, Kangana Ranaut was brutally trolled on internet for not justifying the character of Jayalalithaa. Netizens also shared her post which showed Kangana Ranaut applying prosthetics. Netizens also trolled her sister Rangoli Chandel after the first look was released.
