Jassi Gill needs no introduction. Before he entered Bollywood with comic-caper Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi in 2018, he had established himself as one of the most popular Punjabi singers. The singer-turned-actor is presently busy promoting his second Bollywood offering, titled Panga.
Also starring Kangana Ranaut, Richa Chadha and Neena Gupta in lead roles, Panga is a sports drama revolving around the sports of Kabaddi. Ranaut is essaying the role of a Kabaddi player in the much-awaited movie, while Jassi Gill will be seen in the character of her husband.
Talking about his experience of sharing the screen space with Kangana Ranaut, Jassi Gill says that people usually ask him if Kangana misbehaved with him during the shoot of the film. The actor says that when he simply tells them that she made him comfortable while shooting scenes with her, people do not trust him. He adds that, in fact, it was an interesting experience, and he was very comfortable working with her. Gill says that he also learned so many nuances of acting while watching her act.
Jassi Gill reveals that since the two actors are playing a married couple in the film, they bonded in their free time to develop their on-screen chemistry. He says that he had a lot to converse during their leisure hours as Kangana Ranaut has lived in Chandigarh. Since he also belongs to the same city, they became very comfortable talking about that place.
Panga has been directed by master storyteller Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari who has previously helmed such slice of life movies as Nil Battey Sannata (2016) and Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). Produced by Fox Star Studios, the movie is slated to buzz into theatres on 24th January, 2020. It is clashing with filmmaker Remo D’souza’s dance flick Street Dancer 3D, starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.
